Some More Old Reviews

So, I have posted this on my other blog last year but I figured why not post it here too? So, this was/is my review of Maximum Ride Nevermore by James Patterson.

Review -

(SPOILER ALERT!)

Maximum ride fans got an unsatisfying ending to what could at one point have been an amazing series. First Of All the whole book feels rushed.  Throughout the first 100 pages or so I found myself rolling my eyes so much it was actually making me dizzy. Besides Max, Fang, And Dylan the rest of the Flock is barely in the book at all, which I found to be majorly boring, I mean their some of my Favorites.

There was way to much left hanging at the end. For example, What happened to the rest of Fangs Gang after he left them? Speaking of Fang since when is he a total Wimp? And WTF was with the whole Immortality DNA Thing? Where did that come from and what does it have to do with anything? Not to mention that its yet another lose end, where you pretty much find out nothing about it.

All together there is a total of maybe 15 pages with any fighting and everything that made these books awesome. And Besides saving Angel they never once go after the new group of "BAD GUYS". Then It turns out Angels the voice, Really? Could you have done anything more obvious. and Again you're still left wondering if She was Evil or not. Then at one point when Max's mom is supposedly Bad then she says she was brainwashed, and they just believe her just like that? Then Of course we see that Jeb's Bad again they capture him at one point, and then nothing is mentioned about him again. And the Sad part about all this? Its only about half of the shit that's not tied up.

And there is more. Surprise Surprise, Right? 

#1- The whole book is more about the whole love triangle thing than actually saving the world. and You don't even get a satisfying conclusion to that because its one second she has no idea what she wants and the next shes already decided and you didn't even see it.

#2-  Have I mentioned that they never once go up against the BAD GUYS. Whats the point of a MAXIMUM RIDE book if there's no fighting?

#3- Most Importantly. When The END comes, and the world in actually ENDING, THE END OF THE WORLD, they did absolutely NOTHING. They just LET IT HAPPEN. WTF? The whole point of the series is Max SAVING THE WORLD.

#3- And to top it all off Dylan doesn't even die. I almost Cried when I realized that he wasn't gonna die.

#4- Plus in the end you don't even know for sure if the rest off the Flock died or not.
#5- Honestly toward the End I found Myself hoping that maybe he'd kill someone off, just to make it more interesting.

   Throughout the whole Book I was Just Waiting for It To Be Over.

But what pisses me off the most is that in All of James Patterson’s Interviews, he Brags about how amazing it is and how all Maximum Ride fans should be pleased with how it ended, When It is actually an EPIC FAIL! And I Hate That he's acting like he's Gods' Gift to the Writing world when he completely screwed this Up.
In closing I'd like to add that when I finished this I actually wanted to BURN my copies of 4-8, and probably would have had my mom Let me. :(

Reviews, Reviews, everywhere Reviews.

So, things have kinda come to a stand still here, mainly because I haven't been reading as much as I would like because I've been busy. And then with the books I have read I haven't felt like reviewing or the reviews have been completely awful and I haven't felt like actually posting them. So, I decided to post a couple of my old reviews from Goodreads that I've never put on the blog, and so here they are. Keep in mind that I did this when I wasn't really reviewing allot and its extremely possible that they suck and are extremely lame.
 So, I'm gonna post the ones I did for Tiger's Quest and Tiger's Voyage by Colleen Houck, I did these reviews at the beginning of the year when I first read the books, I did not review the first one but I'll tell you a bit about what I thought of it first and then put in the other real ones, OK? OK.
  About the Series- So, basically you have Kelsey, who is a whiny very annoying main character, who gets a job at a curious and winds up taking care of a white tiger. She then winds up going to India with said tiger who turns out to be an immortal (I think he's immortal, right?) Indian prince named Ren, who of course is "extremely hot' and totally in 'Love' with her. So, they go off on a quest to end the tiger's curse which makes Ren only be able to be human for a specific amount of time a day. So, the quest has four parts and every time they accomplish something the tiger(s) have more time as humans and whatnot. Then of course there has to be some type of 'love' triangle and that's where Kishan comes in. Kishan is Ren's brother who is a black tiger and also cursed and also in 'love' with Kelsey. Now, usually I don't pick sides but I made an exception with these books because Kishan is way better than Ren, mainly because Ren is Uber creepy and acts like Kelsey is a piece of property that he owns and so I completely hate him. =)
  So, I had been debating about reading Tiger's Curse since it first came out and had been putting it off because I was worried that it would have to much romance for my liking, but finally I put it on my x-mas list and got it and so I read it. And it did have a bit too much romance, for me, but overall I thought it was pretty good, good enough for me to buy the others. Unfortunately, I did grow to regret buying them. In the first the action and plot and mythology and everything barely out weighed the romance and at least made the romance tolerable. And I really did like these books...at first. Now on to the real thing.

About Tiger's Quest- So, Ren gets captured and so Kelsey and Kishan must do the next quest without him, and they have to Find Shangri-La and other stuff happens, and it's actually my favorite, of the ones I actually read. And of course Kelsey is just MISERABLE without Ren, and does allot of whining and crying and generally pisses me off.
Review: Tiger's Quest by Colleen Houck -
Original- This book was amazing, I loved everything after Ren got caught. Honestly everything leading up to that I found boring, and while a lot of people loved the way Ren was so devoted to Kelsey and all the romantic junk, I found it kinda gross and creepy. I like Kelsey as a character, but I hate how she seems to think and act like shes nothing without him and she cant do anything without him, I hate those types of girls with a passion. I did start to like her again when she actually started doing stuff and learning how to fight and everything, but I still found myself constantly rolling my eyes whenever she started "weeping" again. The main thing that redeemed this book for me was Kishan, I love that he's not your typical bad boy, that he's actually sweet and cares about Kelsey possibly even more than Ren, plus while he loves Kelsey he's not as clingy as Ren and he's willing to suffer and help Ren be with Kelsey as long as it makes her happy. There was a significant amount of action however I would've been happier with a little less romance, but that's just me. also, I loved how more mythical creatures like Pan and fairies came into it and personally I love any thing with Shangri-La. overall its a really good book, I would recommend it and I will read the next two, but be warned it starts out slower than the first.
Thoughts Now-  I kinda have mixed feelings about this one, back then I was really trying hard to like these books and now that I know I hate them it's hard to remember what I liked about this one. The main reason I liked this one was the Shangri-La stuff and Kishan, plus because Ren wasn't in it very much which made me very very happy. In the next review you will see where this series really failed to me and when I realized how much these books suck and how lame they are not to mention how much I really really dislike them.

About Tiger's Voyage - So, unfortunately they rescued Ren, but now he cant remember Kelsey. So, they go on a big boat in search of some dragons and not much else happens besides me wanting to murder all of the characters.
Review: Tiger's Voyage by Colleen Houck -
Original- -This Review may contain spoilers from Books 1,2,and 3-
My first thought after finishing this book and reading a bunch of reviews for it is "are you sure we read the same book?" Because all these reviews are saying how amazing it was and I'm like its OK. And then everyone is saying how much they love Ren (in reviews from every book in the series)and I’m like really he's so needy and controlling and just rude, I'm mean he seriously gets pissed when Kelsey cuts her hair and then wont let her get it cut how she wants again, seriously? How is that OKAY in this century. And he goes on and on about how she belongs to him, what the heck? How could you like a guy like that, seriously I don’t get it. Honestly I liked Ren a lot better when he couldn't remember anything, at least then he was nice to Kishan and not all possessive of Kelsey. And what was with the golden light with Kelsey’s power when Ren's "touching" her? And hello, this is the 21st century you don’t need a guy, but she just bounces from one to another because heaven forbid she be by herself for more than a minute. Also, Kelsey is a jerk, I hate how she's just using Kishan and how she somehow believes that she's doing it for him, how is pretending you love someone the way they love you when you actually love someone else helping him? Honestly after this book the only character I like anymore is Kishan and I barely like him now, He's always been my favorite character but I hate how stupid he is in this one, I mean how can he not see that Kelsey is just using him to make herself feel better. Now as for Kelsey, what is with every guy she meets immediately falling in love with her? And like at least once in every chapter shes crying over just about anything. And I swear at some parts she's a complete moron. And even though she apparently never had a boyfriend before Ren she suddenly cant live without one. I could go on and on about what I don’t like about her but I'll stop at she's a weak character. Also, what is the point of Nilima? I mean she's barely in any of the books, and then suddenly her and Kelsey are close enough to think of each other as sisters? And she's starving herself for Kelsey to be happy? When did that happen?
  And the bad guy is really lame. He's not even in the books for the most part, even when he captures Ren in book 2 and everything, after that he's hardly mentioned. And now he wants Kelsey so that she can give him a heir? Gross. Not to mention every time she sees him in a vision or for real she's terrified of him, but not enough is said about him and everything to make him actually seem scary and EVIL. He seems more of just an Annoyance or pest than a truly terrifying and evil bad guy, if you get what I mean. I think the character development is way off and just sucks.
  Don’t get me wrong I love the story, the plot, and the action, the whole dragon thing is awesome but the characters need major work. Also, there is too much pointless stuff, like you don’t need to know every meal they eat and the clothes they're wearing at every part in the book. And we don't need to be reminded every other chapter of how confused and hurt Kelsey is feeling, we get it, she's depressed.
  Now in all honesty the series isn't as bad as I make it out to be, but I have a thing against to much romance and I prefer books with strong independent female characters not little wimps who cry constantly and cant be single to save their life.
Plus I had thought that these books would be a bit different and better than they are. I would recommend this book, but only to people who don’t take books as seriously as I do. I will probably finish the series eventually but only because I already own the last one. Lastly, I think the perfect ending for this series would be for Ren and Kishan to kill each other and then Kelsey can off herself, everybody wins, well at least I win.
Thoughts Now- I still agree with most everything I said before.

  Overall I really did not like these books, and I still haven't read the fourth yet and don't really plan to. Also, as far as least favorite love interests go Ren takes first place, and as far as least favorite main characters go Kelsey takes first place, because I really really really really really hate them. But on the upside I really did love Kishan.
I'll try to do an actual new review soon, but we'll see. I'll also continue to put my old ones up here. =)

Song Of The Book-Ment - This is Hell by Elvis Costello*

*Let me explain about this song. So, it's in an episode of the show Gilmore Girls (One of my all time favorite shows) where they only play the chorus and so every time I really dislike a book (Or anything else) I always hear the chorus of this song in my head and so that's why I use it for reviews of books I hate.

Review #1 - How Zoe Made Her Dreams (Mostly) Come True by Sarah Strohmeyer
Review #2 - That Time I Joined The Circus by J.J. Howard

So, I have two short reviews and even though the books have absolutely nothing to do with each other I decided to post them together, because I'm weird that way.

{Warning this post may contain spoilers, but probably not.}

How Zoe Made Her Dreams (Mostly) Come True - 
  This book is about Zoe, obviously. So, Zoe and her cousin Jess become interns at Fairyland, which is basically Disneyland, but focused more on the princesses and fairytales and whatnot, so their cast characters and Zoe winds up being the 'Evil Queens' assistant. And there's this 'Dream and Do' grant and Zoe is trying to help her cousin win it and everything. So, of course there's drama surrounding it and everything. (I am doing a horrible job at this.)
  Overall it's a really good fun YA contemporary. The characters are enjoyable and realistic, there's a nice little mystery thrown in which is awesome and, of course, some romance. I loved Zoe as a character she's awesome, and I loved her relationship with Jess and everything. The romance was pretty standard, but I did love Ian, though I preferred the other stuff better I loved everything about Fairyland and everything with the 'Evil Queen', I loved pretty much everything about this book. Overall it's awesome, funny and entertaining and everything you could want in a YA contemporary. I totally recommend it to any contemporary fan and yeah, you should totally pick it up. And I apologize for the lame review. =)
Song Of The Book-Ment - Every Breathe You Take by The Police - So, this is the main characters ring tone for the 'Evil Queen' and it got stuck in my head because of it.

That Time I Joined The Circus - 
  The main character, who goes by many names, but for the sake of not confusing you I'll go with Lexi, so Lexi's dad dies and her mom is awol and has been for years, so she has to go find her and it turns out she joined the circus, and this is just the beginning of a story that includes Lexi joining said circus, making out with a few guys, becoming a fortune teller, having to deal with her ex-best friend showing up and upsetting her new life and might eventually led to her reuniting with her mom and somehow finding a way to combine her old life with her new and find a way to be happy again, not to mention plenty of references to awesome music, which of course I loved.
  I have mixed feelings about this book, at parts I completely loved it, and at parts I got bored and annoyed with Lexi and angry with certain love interests and its complicated, which is an amazing amount of feelings in a short less than 300 page book. I kinda hated Lexi in the beginning and then I loved her towards the middle, and then I didn't like her so much again for awhile and in the end I at least really liked her, like I said my feelings for this book are complicated. I liked most of the other characters except for the ex-best friend who I hated. I loved one specific love interest whom she did not end up with. =( I loved the whole Circus thing, it was really cool and even though I don't really like the circus in real life I love it in books and I love the whole run off and join the circus thing I just think its fascinating and really cool and fun. I loved her relationship with all the other performers and everything, and I thought Lexi was a really fun, complex, real character which was nice. And It really is a great book for the most part. I just got frustrated with Lexi at parts and some of her choices and everything, but it's not that its a bad book or anything just that it didn't go the way I wanted it to at some parts. Plus I hated who she ended up with, but I loved that the author made me be OK with it and almost like it. The whole ending was OK, not great, but I only say that because she ends up with the wrong guy! Sometimes I think I get too invested and into a book, its a real problem. But overall a good book and I definitely recommend it. And I'm gonna shut up now.

Review: Inferno by Sherrilyn Kenyon

{Spoiler Alert- possibly from any and all books in the Chronicles of Nick series}
  In case you don't know Inferno is the fourth is the Chronicles Of Nick series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I haven't actually reviewed the other three but they're all awesome and fun and just really good books. I kinda just stumble upon the first, Infinity, when I was buying another book and my brother actually bought it and a few weeks later when I had nothing to read I read it and loved it so he gave it to me, its funny considering he still hasn't even read the first one. But yeah, obviously I love them all and now lets move on to the actual review.
By the way if you haven't read the first three books you probably don't want to read this.
  I love these books because they're always awesome. They're action packed and hilarious, the main character is awesome and so are the other characters, and the books are always fun mildly quick reads.
And this one was no different it was awesome and fun and should I just continue to repeat this over and over or move on?
Ok, moving on.
  So, this book finds Nick broken up with Kody and trying not to go all evil, learning new powers and setting people on fire. Plus you know a bunch of demons trying to either kill and/or capture and control him like a slave. Character wise you get some nice amounts of character development and histories of certain characters are revealed, at least partially. Plot wise, you dive deeper into Nick's demon self, and certain people's plans for him and him learning more and growing as a character and everything. And it's just awesome and so so good.
 About the characters - While Kody is awesome she's not my favorite but I loved getting to find out more about her in this one. And I love Caleb and again you finally find out more about his back story and everything, which is awesome. Also Ash is one of my favorites and you learn a bit more about him. So, yeah, lots of character development going on in this book, But I don't want to spoil anything, so lets just say the character development is plentiful and awesome.
  Writing wise, I've always admired her way of balancing the serious parts and action with Nick's sarcasm and everything which makes it extremely funny, and she does not disappoint with this one. My favorite part of the whole book is this part where one of the characters, Brynna (I think I spelled that wrong, sorry), addresses bullying, and the paper she wrote for this Anti bully brigade, and that part is just so good and beautiful and I mean that's the kinda thing everyone wishes they could write, something so true and life changing and just beautiful, and to me those things seem even better when fit in to a fantasy/paranormal type book. But if I had hated the book that part alone would have made me love it, because it's just so true and I love how she addresses something that is so important in life today and everything. Though that is my favorite part the whole book is awesome and probably the best in the series so far, maybe second only to book three because I really loved that one too.
  The only thing I didn't like was the epilogue. I swear it killed me, I hated it so much. While I respect authors and their stories in the sense that it's their story and their world and they have to take it wherever they think it's supposed to go, I hate where this is going. It seems to be leading into a alternate-universe type thing and I hate that. I mean it's fine when the series or whatever is supposed to be about that, but when it's just kinda stuck into the middle of a series I hate it. It always tends to ruin the books for me. Of course I'll give it a try maybe It wont suck but I don't have high hopes for loving it.
But all around this book is awesome and I loved it and the whole series is spectacular  And I highly recommend them all.

Review: This Is What Happy Looks Like By Jennifer E. Smith

I know I've stated that I hate romance books and everything and then I read contemporary books. But it's more that I hate romance interfering with my fantasy, when I'm reading a fantasy book I want fantasy, dragons and demons, not a bunch of mushy kissy romance scenes and "love" triangles. Plus I love YA contemporary of any kind, I cant help it. But be forewarned that I've never reviewed this type of book before so it probably sucks, having said that I shall start now-

When teenage movie star Graham Larkin accidentally sends small town girl Ellie O'Neill an email about his pet pig, the two seventeen-year-olds strike up a witty and unforgettable correspondence, discussing everything under the sun, except for their names or backgrounds. 

Then Graham finds out that Ellie's Maine hometown is the perfect location for his latest film, and he decides to take their relationship from online to in-person. So, first of all I loved this author's other book, The Statistical Probability Of Love At First Sight, it's probably one of my all time favorite contemporaries second only to This Is What Happy Looks Like, because somehow this book manages to be even better than The Statistical Probability Of Love At First Sight, plus it has a shorter title, so that's a plus. I've been pining for this book since I first heard it was coming out and after waiting forever for it I read it in just a few short hours, so sad, but it didn't disappoint. You know how you wait for a book for what feels like forever and then you read it in less than a day and it's kinda sad cause after all that waiting it's just over and either you have to wait for the next (If it's a series) or it's a stand alone and you just want to curl up in a ball and whimper. So, yeah as much as I loved it I'm a bit depressed/angry at myself because I read it so fast. I mean of course I could read it again but its not the same, because no matter how good a book is or how much you love it it's not the same reading it for a second or thirtieth time as it is that first time. OK, I guess I should get to the actual review now.
While it is slightly cheesy I thought it was a really really good book, and really how many YA contemporary/romance books can you name that aren't cheesy? Anyways I loved the story, I loved the characters, I loved that its set in Maine, I loved everything for the most part. Though my favorite parts were the parts where they were emailing each other before they even met I loved it all.
I liked the parts from Graham's POV, I liked the way he felt about acting and how he handled everything and how he tried so hard to met Ellie and everything. And I loved Ellie, obviously because I love everything apparently.  The only thing is I wish that Quinn had been in it more and that you knew more about her because it felt like she was overlooked a bit, but I always think that of any sidekick/supporting character type characters. 
It's just really good and fun and lighthearted while not completely void of real issues and everything. Obviously I'm have issues with explaining how good this is, so just go buy it already and then you'll understand how I feel.
Overall It's a light, quick, fun, easy read. I highly recommend it especially if your looking for something fun and uplifting that you can get through in one sitting but will stay with you. Be warned though that you might feel the need to rush out and buy every other book by this author.

• I'd Do Anything by Simple Plan- Just listen to it and you'll see. It just kinda fits the book in the sense that they cant give up on each other and cant forget about each other and yea just listen to it.
• Anywhere But Here by Mayday Parade- I picked this one for the way they felt about each other before they meet, and like their daydreams about each other.
• Time Bomb by All Time Low - Again I think it just explains Graham and Ellie's relationship, in some ways at least.
• I Swear This Time I Mean It by Mayday Parade- For the beach scene at the end.
• All Fall Down by OneRepublic - I picked this song for the part where she finally sees her dad.
• Between The Raindrops by Lifehouse- For from when they steal the boat until the end.
• Here (In Your Arms)- Again If you listen to it you'll know why I picked it....probably.
• Complicated By Avril Lavigne -  So, for when Graham is explaining how since he's become famous no one he dates acts 'real' and everything.
• Lastly I have two three songs for the scene where they first kiss-
• Just A Kiss by Lady Antebellum
• (Kissed You) Good Night by Gloriana
• Kiss Me Slowly by Parachute

Review: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

   I'm probably one of the last people in the world to finally read this book but I'm really glad I did read it because it's awesome. I really enjoyed it, more than I thought I would, actually. The Characters and writing style are different and refreshing. And everything about it is pure awesome.
  I've heard it both ways that this book is amazing and that it sucks. And while I really really liked it, I can see why some people hated it. Like it's not one of those books that when I hear someone say they hated it or that they just thought it was Meh I want to take them by the shoulders and shake them while screaming "How could you say that It's the best book ever, you stupid naive fool!", no cause while I think it's awesome I've read better and even loving it like I do I can understand why some people don't like it. I mean it's really really good, great even, but you have to like and understand the way it's written or it can just come off as stupid and boring and with the main character Juliette, you have to really understand and listen to her and you're right in her head so if you don't like or understand her you will hate the book. It's one of those absolutes where you either completely Hate it or you completely Love it, there's not really an in between.  And I think it's a book that's best if you read it bit slow, like don't rush through it, give it time to sink in and get used to the writing style and take time to understand Juliette and everything.
  On to the actual review:
 Characters - For the most part I liked Juliette and the way you were in her head and everything was really cool, I thought. But sometimes she annoyed me, like how she always thought she was weak and mainly the whole "touching" other people thing. I get that she's never been able to so much as hug someone without, basically killing them, and her parents were horrible and everything but the parts where she can touch Adam and everything were weird and annoyingly mushy and uncomfortable, I felt. I mean you just start being able to touch someone and right away you want to 'go all the way', for lack of better words, I just don't understand that but I'm weird. Besides that I enjoyed Juliette's character for the most part especially when she started fighting back and everything. Also though I thought the bird thing was kinda random and weird. Anyways on to the love interest(s). At first I hated Adam like seriously couldn't stand him and then he started to grow on me, I cant say I completely love him but I don't hate him either, but I liked the parts where Juliette was remembering him from before better those are the parts that really made me like him. Now Warner I didn't get it at first, what everyone loved about him, I thought him a desperate weirdo. But then I read the short novella Destroy Me that's from his POV,  and it's like WARNER! and yeah. I'm not usually one of those people who get really into the male characters and picks teams and all of that, but I must admit that I kinda Love Warner now. It's not so much that I'm all 'she must end up with him or I'll hate these books forever' or anything, so much as I hope Warner gets a good ending and I love him. I still like Adam but I don't love him like I do Warner, in fact I kinda like Warner as a character more than even Juliette. Normally I cant stand at least one of the main love interests but in this I like both. And honestly I think Juliette should probably end up with Adam, I just want a good ending for Warner, of course I may change my mind after I read Unravel Me. Kenji, I must say I love you too. He's awesome and funny and just a fun character, hopefully there's more of him in book 2, man I really gotta get my hands on a copy of that.
     I thought the world building and everything was awesome (I say Awesome allot don't I?) and done really well. And, yeah I loved the plot and the execution of the plot and the writing style is awesome and refreshing and just interesting and really cool, but  it is extremely different and can be annoying and difficult to like at times. The writing style is one of those things where if you don't get it you wont and you wont like or understand the book and more importantly the main character Juliette. Having said that you just have to have an open mind when starting the book and know that, writing-style wise, it's not like any other YA book.
   But I highly recommend this book, it's awesome and epic and I really really Love it, in case you didn't know. :)

So, as soon as I get Unravel Me I shall read it and then I shall, probably, do a review for it.

   Overall I feel pretty neutral for the most part about this book. All together it was an OK book, I didn't love it but I didn't totally hate it either. Luckily I got a free ARC from epicreads because I'd feel allot worse about the book had I paid for it. It's one of those books that’s worth the read (barely) but not the time or money.
   While I liked the overall premise the execution sucked for the most part, and there was quite a few things I hated.
   Firstly The Plot and World building-
   World building-wise there was none, seriously you find out absolutely nothing about anything. What was the apocalypse, What happened to the world to make it a Waste Land? Why is the rain deadly? What exactly are the variants? Why doesn't anyone live past 19? None of these questions are answered. Everything important is just casually mentioned not explained at all.
     The Characters -
   There is only one thing I hate more than love triangles and that's insta love, where two people who don't even know each other are all of a sudden in 'love', and in this book its worse than ever cause after all of 3 conversations over the span of 3 or 4 days they become 'partners' basically married and its completely normal they don't even stop to think about it and the next thing they do (which I refer to as the unmentionable act because I'm a prude and I admit it) I found really gross and slightly disturbing. But besides the insta love thing, I just found it incredibly hard to like and relate to the characters and the constantly switching POVs was confusing. Esther is a whiny bit** who doesn't understand why everyone hates her when she does nothing but complain about everything, she acts like a whiny spoiled little kid and then in the span of five sentences appears to "grow up", honestly I kinda hated her. Even the 'bad' guy is kinda lame and even though they do explain about why he is the way he is I found it stupid and petty and lame and he seemed kinda two-dimensional and too boring to be the villain .
Besides all that the plot was pretty predictable for the most part and kinda boring.
   I seem to have forgotten the few things I actually liked and cant remember if they ever existed. Overall it's not that good and kinda forgettable.
So, If you like books that are confusing, with no back-story, crappy characters and you like being bored to death, I totally recommend this book. But I wouldn't read it again and I probably wont read the others in this trilogy when they come out, partly because I didn't love this one and partly because I don't see how there can be another or what exactly it would be about.

Review: Prophecy By Ellen Oh

    Demons? A Kick-butt female main character? Murdered Kings? count me in.
   Prophecy is the story of Kira, a demon killing, Prince protecting outcast. While Kira is the Kings niece she's never been accepted by the people, because of her yellow eyes and demon killing ability, she's always been a outcast, but that doesn't stop her from trying to save the kingdom when enemy soldiers, and demons, invade. So, basically the kingdom is invaded by an ass working with the Demon lord and so Kira and the Prince must flee and lots of other stuff happens. Its way more interesting than I make it sound, I promise.
   Overall I loved this book. Its awesome, action packed and fast paced. It has a awesome bad-ass main character, which I always love and an interesting premise that hasn't been done to death. The only thing is at parts it seems a little to fast paced, like you barely have time to figure out what just happened in one battle before there's another one or something else just as big and confusing is happening, its still amazing just a bit confusing.
   My first thought after finishing this, well after "I Must Have More NOW!", was "Yes! finally a YA book that's not overflowing with romance", I'm a firm believer that there is such thing as too much romance and that it can ruin the whole book, so I was so happy that there wasn't much in this book. Its nice to have a break from all the 'Love' triangles and the 'I can't live without you's '. But, anyways, this book concentrates more on family and duty to ones country or kingdom, which I thought was really cool and was done really well, with hints of romance here and there. Having said that if you want something with a bunch a romance and kissy scenes I don't recommend this book, however if you want a fun, action packed, fast paced, awesome book go and get this right now. 
   About the characters - I loved Kira, she's a bad-ass, butt-kicking demon slayer, what more could you ask for in a main character? I really enjoyed her relationship with Teajo (her cousin and the Prince), how she would do anything to protect him and not just because its her duty. Kwan irritated me sometimes and Jeawon was confusing and I want to know more about him and everything. But overall I enjoyed all the characters. The only thing is that the whole Shin Bo Hyun thing, the hints that he actually has feelings for Kira and maybe she has feelings for him too? It was weird and felt to me awkward and confusing. 
    But I loved the plot and the execution of said plot. =) 
   I absolutely loved that it was nonstop action for the most part. I loved the characters, the demon hunting (from the beginning), and especially how she (Kira) was an outcast and how she showed them that they were wrong about her and how she never let it stop her and how strong a main character she is and, yeah, just about everything for the most part. 
So, yeah. If your on the fence about reading this I highly suggest that you do read it it's definitely worth it, in my opinion. =)
    P.s. sorry if this review is all mixed up and repetitive but I'm writing it at 2am after finishing the book and I'm really tired (Cue Yawn). =)
